MAWUKO AREA CDC TRAINS 91 YOUTHS ON VARIOUS VOCATIONAL SKILLS

Mawuko Area CDC, Mawuko Zonal Committee has trained 91 youths in the Community on various vocational skills for self-sustenance under its Skill Acquisition and Development Programme.

The Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives, Hon. Abayomi Semako Hunye ably represented by the Area officer in charge Mr. Sunday Adekoya made this known at the closing of the training on Saturday, 15th of April, 2023 at OLG Primary School, Odeda Local Government, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The youth, who were drawn from ten (10) communities were trained in paint production, decorations, cake making, and tye and dye for three days.

Adekoya said this is a great opportunity for the youths in the Area and then encouraged the trainees not to relent, but rather put more effort into acquiring more knowledge in their various learning aspects, as the program would further create wealth, tackle unemployment and hence contribute to the task of nation building.

The Chairman, of Mawuko Area CDC, Alhaji Muyideen Kalejaye said the objective of the training was to equip youths with vocational skills that would make them become not only self-employed but employers of labor. He then emphasized the importance to train our youths for the betterment of our community, state, and Nigeria. He said 91 youths were trained on various courses in which trainees will be awarded certificates.

Alhaji Muyideen Kalejaye, the Chairman Mawuko Area CDC then presented an award of appreciation to the family of Efunroye Tinubu for their contribution to the growth and development of the Mawuko community, especially giving of land to the community to build a hospital.

Alhaji Kalejaye then presented a giant picture portrait to Engr. Chief Adeoye Adekunle, the Balogun of Mawuko land, Sagua of Eruwon land, and immediate past Chairman of Mawuko Area CDC for his leadership skills in Mawuko and Opeji Area CDC as a whole.

Meanwhile the immediate past Chairman, Mawuko Area CDC, Engr. Chief Adekunle Adeoye in his remarks appreciates the Mawuko Area CDC for the gift bestowed on him for his selfless and unprecedented leadership qualities found on him. He then spoke on diversification, vision, and mission.

At the occasion, the Mawuko Zonal Chairman who doubled as the chairman organizing committee Chief Samod Soaga urged the parent to support their children to make them continue and practice what they have learned.

One of the facilitators, Mr. Ifeoluwa Adesanya said the training would go a long way in assisting the unemployed youths to be self-reliant.

One of the beneficiaries, Miss. Adewole Iyanuoluwa said the skill she had acquired during the training would assist her become a boss without necessarily looking for a white-collar job.

Another beneficiary, Mr. Obadimu Opemiposi, said the program schemed to meet the needs of the youth in the community.

Miss. Kalejaye Mistura commended the Mawuko Area CDC for the initiative, promising to utilize the skill acquired maximally.
