The Cooperative Management Association of Ogun State (OGSCOMAS) Egba-Zone marked a milestone as they celebrated their 9th End of the Year Anniversary and Annual Party on Friday , 20th December, 2024 at Fimosokan Lantoro (Abeokuta) Cooperative Multipurpose Union Limited, Abeokuta the Ogun State Capital. The event was highlighted by a powerful opening address delivered by the President of OGSCOMAS Egba-Zone, Mr. Abdulrasaq Isiaq Babatunde.
In his welcome speech, Mr. Abdulrasaq Isiaq Babatunde expressed deep gratitude to Almighty God for the achievements of the past year. He acknowledged the resilience, unity, and dedication of cooperative members and leaders who contributed to the zone’s success.
Reflecting on the year’s milestones, Mr. Abdulrasaq outlined key accomplishments, including:
– The successful implementation of uniform account preparation, exclusive to the Egba-Zone.
– Engaging members through modern techniques and innovative training programs.
– Establishing and sustaining a commodities shop offering affordable goods to members.
– Fulfilling a long-held dream by purchasing land for the association.
“These accomplishments are a testament to our collective hard work, dedication, and passion,” he stated. “They show our commitment to excellence and our ability to evolve in a changing world.”
Mr. Abdulrasaq expressed gratitude to OGSCOFED President, Alhaji Olaleye Abdulwasiu Babatunde, FICP, for his innovative leadership that has greatly benefited cooperative managers. He also thanked zonal directors, the Director of Cooperative Services in Ogun State, and his executive team for their tireless efforts over the past three years.
In closing, Mr. Abdulrasaq urged members to remain united and committed to progress. “OGSCOMAS… United we stand!” he declared, wishing everyone a prosperous New Year.
The President of Ogun State Cooperative Central Financing Agency Limited and Fimosokan Lantoro (Abeokuta) CMU Limited, Mr. S. K. Adeyanju FICP also welcome all professionals and stakeholders to the OGSCOMAS EGBA Zone 9th years anniversary and end of the year party.
Elder T. A. Adesegun, President of Abeokuta Central Branch of Ogun State Cooperative Federation Limited, encouraged cooperative professionals to embrace continuous learning for sustainable growth.
The President Ogun State Cooperative Managers Association (OGSCOMAS) Pastor Oluyiga Gbodi urged Cooperative Administrative Managers to uphold integrity for cooperative sustainability.
The Chairperson, Institute of Cooperative Professionals of Nigeria (ICOPRON) Ogun State Chapter, Mrs. Adesina F. O called for greater collaboration and a shift towards digital transformation in the cooperative sector.
Additionally, Mr. Oladehin the Assistant Director of Cooperative Services, Abeokuta North Local Government.applauded the OGSCOMAS Egba-Zone for their dedication and progress, encouraging them to keep raising the bar for excellence.
Mr. David I. Ayelabola the Executive Secretary of Ogun State Cooperative Federation Limited (OGSCOFED) announced the reopening of OGSCOFED Digital Skills and Technology Center (ODSTEC) in 2025, emphasizing the need for training and retraining cooperative managers.
The celebration included the inauguration of new executives, an award presentation ceremony, and the launching of the OGSCOMAS Egba-Zone 2025 Almanac Calendar.
The event was a vibrant reminder of the strength of cooperative unity and the bright future ahead for OGSCOMAS Egba-Zone.
